Re: burnt clutch!!!

Sounds like your mechanic needs a bigger hammer, or you need to find a better mechanic.

Re: burnt clutch!!!

Tell the guy that is working on your clutch that he needs to take off the lever that the slave cylinder attaches to. The clutch has a PULL diaphragm and not a PUSH diaphragm. He is trying to disengage the pressure plate as he is trying to separate the bellhousing. If he removes the lever, the fingers that work the throwout bearing will let the bearing stay in the pressure plate and release the trans from the engine. Tell him to make sure and put the bearing INTO THE FINGERS and onto the input shaft and push it as far back on the shaft as it will go BEFORE installing the trans and don't touch the thing until it is all together. After it is all together he can put the lever for the slave back on and work it back and forth until the throwout bearing clips into the pressure plate. If he clips it into the pressure plate before putting the trans in, he will have to spread the snap ring to remove it.
