like i tell everyone on here...if your serious about an RB swap check on mckinneymotorsports...very reputable company specializing in RB swaps...they make custom mounts and brakets ect...sell the motors also. The reason most people buy or custom fab the engine cross member is becuase the RB25's do bolt up but they sit farther foward. The mckinney pieces sit father back on the firewall, thus giving you better weight distribution, ect ect...blah blah...and a properly done RB swap will cost around 10k...but do it how you want...you take short cuts and you know what your going to get...at least everyone else around here knows. oopps...just now noticed this is a old thread...CRAP!

i totally agree with u driftking, if u really want a clean swap, it will cost u bout 10k. unless u can get some deals and swap it in urself. Mckinney motor sports is the place to go to get all ur needs for the swap tho. I have 1 question tho, the clutch for the rb25 rwd tranny is the same as that of a 90-96 300zx right?? cuz all my research points me to a z32 clutch bein the same. is 90-96 300zx is a z32 right??

The Z32/RB25 Tranny is basically the same thing and the RB doesnt have a dual mass flywheel... So I would think it would. |

thanks guys.. i didnt want to be buyin the wrong clutch... everywhere i look they are using the nismo clutch or the exedy twin plate one which are very expensive....i was lookin at gettin an ACT stage 3, 6puck race clutch from the turbo z32.....do u think this would work just as well since im kinda on a tight budget and i cant spend over 1000 on just a clutch....

Re: Rb20dett or 26dett
man if you lived in Australia you could pick up a rb26dett for around $1000-$3000, im dropping a rb20det out of a r33 into my s13 track car and all that I need to do is buy r33 engine mounts and she will drop in and then of cause swap to a twin turbo setup, but as far as ive seen its a matter of changing engine mounts in a s13/180.
