my car does not idle well
My Car a Lincoln LS 2000 model V8 does not idle well on low speed . It actually goes off at traffic lights and jerks at speed change on hills et.
It is 80,000 mls . |

Hey Phil, welcome to AF.
My 2000 V8 also did pretty much the same thing, but didn't get to the point of shutting off. A few questions if I may: Does your check engine light come on? Has this problem come about suddenly, or gradually gotten worse? What work have you done recently under the hood? More than likely it will be a plug, or one of the coils that sit on the plug, of one or more cylinders.

You engine has an igintion coil on each cyclinder. Go to your local parts store and they may have a hand held computer tester and test it for you as mind does "Advance Auto" and it will tell you which cyc. is missing and you can replace it yourself for arount $50.00.
