YAMAHA YZR-M1 2005 GAULOISES No.46

Hello, friends !

I started new project. But Yamaha YZR-M1 2005 again.
I've practiced twice and I dare to challenge the perfect version this time. Can I make it? Who knows?

I'm using this kit. It's 3rd time to make this kit.

And, Top studio's detail up set.

And some other after market's ribet, bolt, etc.

I'll make gauloises version by using the studio27's decals.

Re: YAMAHA YZR-M1 2005 GAULOISES No.46

As usual I started with dry fit.

To use the Top studio's detail set, you have to modify the making order for easier work.

If you make in right order, you can easily proceed. So I think planing and deciding the working order are very important and it must be very different from that of the instruction of the tamiya kit.

After dry fit, you can see the gap between two parts.

Made guides for easy positioning and fill the gap with styrene sheets.

After filling the gap, modified the shape of this part. (Sorry, I don't know the name of the part. Could anybody tell me the name?)

This part is not fit to the radiator well.

And checked if parts are fit well each other.

I hope to fit all the cowlings together after I finished all the details. So I kept checking the parts' positioning.

There's no gap between those two parts in real M1. I should do something afterward.

After modifying the shape of the resin part and checking the assemble of each part, remove this part.

And trimed the styrene.

Made the mount to correct the positioning of the guage.(I'm not sure it's the correct name.)

And cut the carbon panel below the front cowling.

Awesome, I can't wait to see this WIP. I'm just about to start the same kit and use the Top Studio kit. This will be my first try using the Top Studio kit.

A little progress...

Making these parts.

I decided to make them by using the original parts and styrene plates.

It must be difficult but those resin parts included in the Top studio detail set are not well fit with the cowlings either, and I prefer the styrene part to the resin one because I'm planing to assemble the cowlings by small bolts.

Firstly, I laminated styrene plates and made space for fitting both parts.

It will be fit like this.

Roughly cut the shape and glue them.

Made shape by carving and sanding. It's a work.

It will be fit like this.

The front cowling could be snap fit without glue like this.

Checked if cowlings are fit well.

Re: YAMAHA YZR-M1 2005 GAULOISES No.46

Divided fuel tank and front cover.

And added the sill for front cover.

Made the partition of the fuel tank and the linkup with the main frame.

Made a linkage on the sash.

The fuel tank fits like this.

It seems that there's enough room for the electronic equipments on the air box.

A close-up of the linkup. It needs more sanding.

The front cover fits like this. I hope that the cover fits well to the end.

Thank you for watching.
