Factory aero kit isn't all that bad, and the Type-S aero kit is supposed to be coming soon.
I'll wait for Tamiya's Sep. 12th announcement. (Although I'm sure I'll be buying Fujimi's Type-S aero kit anyway.)

Angry Well, I just got my RX8

I just got my RX-8. What a steaming pile of crap.

Good points first. The body proportions look good. Sit the nicely done, big diameter wheels under it, squint, and it has a very neat appearance. It's larger than an RX7, is that correct?

Okay, now the ugly. The interior is AWFUL.
The front seats are WAY too short, the lower cushion is about 1/3 chopped off. The side panel detail is weak. The dashboard is about a 40% correct depiction of the real car...very weak, many details simply not in the right place, engraving is '70's tech. The outboard vents are tragically misrepresented.

The chassis is very simple. The front bumper is molded in two pieces...part attached to the body, part is separate...requiring filling. Why the hell didn't they break the bumper where the bumper parting line to the body is??

The rear bumper sprue attachments are to the upper/visible portion of the bumper.

The taillight bucket isn't too bad, closer than I thought...detail paint will help. Headlight buckets are pretty weak. Front bumper inlets are a bit square. How the hell you get the mesh grille in after you glue the bumper together to fill it is beyond me.

I certainly hope Tamiya is doing an RX8. I won't be buying any more Fujimi versions, no matter how tempting their Aero Package may be.

cant wait to see this one built dude, sorry to seem a bit pedantic but as far as my maths seems to go that measurement seems to end up as a scale 19.84" dia. 21 x 24 (1/24 scale) / 25.4 = 19.84" those are some big ass 18"s. lol

are you gonna be keeping the standard rims? i somehow doubt it, lol. what have you got planned for it? i think something like the amistad v?
cant wait
