Re: Ford Escort RS1800
Thanks guys I am very excited about the wheel/tires myself. I can't wait to see the castings. I wish I could take credit for them but Fireball Modelworks did the hard part. I just provided reference and guidance on what they should look like.

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
The kit glass is ridiculously thick, nearly .070"
I will replace it with some .010" clear sheet. When the glass is installed I hold it in place with a .015 headliner panel.

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
Fabricated the water inlet for the engine for some shaped rod, flat sheet and a photo-etch header flange.

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
The way the kit is designed you mount the engine to the cross member then install this assembly in the chassis. I like to repeatedly test fit everything so that method does not work for me. I came up with a way to mount the engine without the cross member in place.
Looks bad with the engine out but is completely hidden when the engine is installed.

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
The roll cage in the Belkits' MkI shows an angled bar beside each door. I haven't been able to confirm if the MkII had these door bars - does anyone know?
The Belkits also shows a diagonal bar behind the main roll hoop - not sure this is correct for the MkI or the MkII.

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
I think so beside door could be inclined bars. Diagonal brace behind the protective frame probably was not. But it was different in each car.
