4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)

Hi there! After years away spent building WWI planes and other stuff, I back to AF with a new project.
To be honest scratchbuilt is a huge word, I'm 3D designing and printing my ideas, so no manual jobs involved here.

So far I'll leave space to images: I designed the fulvia's heart, the famous V4. My intention is to do the Fulvia HF (Monte 72 winner), the '69 daytona Zagato (2° overall, first in class), eventually the Stratos Zero that mount the same powerplant, and a generic Gr4 Zagato

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)

Like you'll see from the cover image the Zagato daytona and Gr4 cars are 100% designed, at least I'll add fewdetails, the Zero is at a good point and the HF is at a draft-early stage. All the models share same chassis, engine-mechs and most of interiors.

lt me start from the heart, the V4 engine

Let's go with the engine mount: same engine, mounts and sunspensions as wellas the chassis are shared by alle the 4 (+variants) models

and engine and gearbox mounted on the sub-frame

So far we have something printed. This is frosted extreme detail by Shapeways: not enough for my tastes despite images are 4-500% zoomed, better at naked eyes. BTW I'll print few details more at a better resolution

Time for interiors

Steering geometry would be hopefully workable

Off to an excellent start. 3D printing certainly opens up the world of possibilities!

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)

Ray! It's a good pleasure to read you, after years .

Thanks guys.
Mikhail: like you would well understand, I wouldn't like to surrender to the pleasure to see something "unmaterial" to grow up and get "material" , who print something in 3D or uses machining tools would understand , we feel "creators" in such moment, also becouse my zero is at a good stage of completion despite on hold by years. But I'll be pleased and honored to send you when casted my powertrain to be used with your Stratos body, promised! Anyway thanks for the offer!

Just a quick fitting of the fulvia powertrain mounted back like was done in the Zero: a early stage to be checked well.... for sure something of the "sled" must be cut.

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)

I molded my Zero with front hood-door closed since I'm quite worried to get deformed parts and so not sure of the fitting than. But the car would to have openable back bonnet: it hase much more folds so I expect no deformation or troubles. Another idea is to include a spare front door, if someone would like to build it open have just to cut the fixed one and create a gasket around the cut, not for anyone but not complex.

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)

Ok guys after all this work was time enough for my gift, I deserved. I eventually customized my own Fulvia Zagato, in group4 specs, with 4 spokes campagnolo rims and few aero lips....my baby with her special Zagato bumps on the roof!!

I expect to receive zagato body shell and stuff early next week and I would start the job immediatly!

together with the sister

Yep the back spoiler need to be reshaped... I need something more merely seventyy..

And following the "generic" Group4 with few differencies from the daytona: window gaskets, front grid, hinges, back exaust, two seater and few other....

I'm thinking to offer some few accessories fr the Gr4 Zagato like racing - regularity computers, different steering wheels, rims, estinguishers and stuff to customize the baby.

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)

Finally something "solid" also on the body shells. Parts fits perfectly, looks me that the Zagato line is well captured, I have to say not easystarting from blank

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)

Great work....I hope you offer a kit of Daytona car. They ran at Daytona in both 1968 and 1969. Really surprised no one has done the regular Lancia Fulvia Zagato in diecast like Hachette in 1/24th scale.

That's a serious project Gio! Nice start!

Looks like a lot of time went into building the data. Which software did you use?
