I've seen pictures, and a Tamiya model kit, but I've been hard pressed to find any more info on it.
I think it was produced in '93, and it weighed way less than the regular version. Can anybody point me towards some decent info and/or specs (and more pix)?. |

What I've already found...
Here are the only two pictures I've found so far:
And pictures of the Tamiya model kit/box: I'm working on getting that model, by the way. |

Thanks
Actually, while that site doesn't have much info, the stuff it does have seem pretty good.
Thanks for posting it. |

I knew it'd do that!
That's supposed to be in Japanese. If you use IE, you can right-click and change "Encoding," if you have any Japanese text support installed. Or, you could read it here: http://www.honda.co.jp/INTEGRATYPE-R/spirit/issue2.html Thanks. |

Translation by BabelFish
"The public road of course regarding the circuit because there was a passion where is hot to the car making which had the preponderant efficiency which you can be absorbed to the joy of working very, saying the NSX-R was born 30 years later, is not overstatement. HONDA did not limit the first step of the beginning to 4 wheels and, advanced hotly. Therefore very HONDA was HONDA, it became the manufacturer which produces TYPE R. "

New NSX Type R
http://world.honda.com/Tokyo2001/auto/NSX-R/index.html
The key concept guiding the development of the new NSX-R is "evolution and strength". As the first to benefit from Honda痴 greatest achievements on the racing circuit, the NSX could almost be called the original TYPE R, and Honda has once again boosted its sporting spirit. A major factor in the NSX痴 premium handling and performance is the lightweight aluminum body, and for the new model carbon fiber and other ultra lightweight materials have been used wherever possible for even lower weight. In addition, the revised craftsman-built interior further accentuates NSX-R痴 sports credentials. Major equipment: Carbon fiber hood air outlets Carbon fiber rear spoiler Carbon fiber engine compartment cover MOMO genuine leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel RECARO carbon fiber Aramid bucket seats Type R dedicated 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels 215/40ZR low profile tires (front), 255/40ZR low profile tires (rear) Specifications: Overall length/width/height: 4430mm/1810mm/1160mm Wheelbase: 2530mm See also http://www.nsxprime.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002818.html for more discussions (discussion copied without permission from the NSX Prime forums) |

Also, I've never been able to find production numbers for the original NSX-R. Has anyone else ever seen them? |

It's hard to find the information since we can't read Japanese. However I think no more than 500 original Type R were sold. NSX have 215ZR45 16" Front and 245ZR40 17" Rear.
