kilswitch.

hey,

i just put a killswitch on my 77 torana...the way i did it was turn the positive side of the coil to negative when the switch is flicked causing it to short therefore create no spark.

however, my problem lies in the LED i want to flash whne the switch is on... i tried connecting the coil to the negative side of the led and then a free wire to the +ve side of the battery. So when the switch is on (and coil is negative) the light flashes, and when switch is open then both coil and otherwire are negative , therefore no flash. However i think i keep blowing led's because of htis method. could anyone quickly throw together and circuit diagram including flashing 12v led incorperated into the way ive already done it. and send it to bennyboy_331@hotmail.com

cheers.

Re: kilswitch.

Did someone reply???
If not I'll try and put together a schematic for you.

Is the LED one of those 'apply power and it flashes' type??

Be careful with that setup, if the positive is touching the negative coil, then if the engine is cranked, it could fry the electrical system. We had to fix a VX that someone tried to steal by putting a wire from the positive terminal to the positive side of the coil, but got the 2 mixed up, noticing it didn't start, left it. The owner came out the next day and the car wouldn't start, and the bonnet was left open....
