1/24 Austin Healey Sprite bugeye? Fujimi Cobra?
Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a 1/24 kit of the Austin Healey Sprite available? I had it in my head I'd seen a Tamiya or maybe Gunze one? but searching HLJ got nothing.
I have a little project in mind... Also, how is the quality of the Fujimi AC Cobra? Mainly wheels, seats and engine detail... Project inspiration is a little cartoon I found, which I thought would make a neat 1/24 model.. Heres a link to the site , there are some awesome drawings on there..

Gunze made stock and racing versions of the Bugeye Sprite (Frogeye outside of the US). Neat little kit, I built the racing version, Bigfrit built the street version...do a little search and ye shall find. It's not currently available...I wanted a street version, HLJ had them listed up until recently as being restocked at some point, now they're shown as discontinued. Oh well. They're out there if you search hard enough.
Fujimi's Cobra isn't worth the money. Except for it's gorgeous front wheels and tires (the rears are the same size... ), it simply does not compare in accuracy or appearance to the trusty Revell/Monogram 1/24 Cobra kit which is a very good model. Fujimi's engine is terrible, the body is so-so, and the windscreen and frame are much out of scale. Don't succumb to the popular at A/F notion that if it's made in Japan it will spank Revell, because this time it most certainly does not.

Re: 1/24 Austin Healey Sprite bugeye? Fujimi Cobra?
Ok, cool, thought it might have been Gunze. I'll keep my eyes open for it.
I was only thinking of the Fujimi cobra for a few parts, but it sounds like I'd be better served starting off with the Revell one then, since the engine would be a focal point for this car (though maybe I should use a chev like the drawing...nah I'm a ford man).
