Porsche 917 LH 1/24 Martini Racing - Le mans 1971
Ok, for this model i didnt make any work in progress (sometimes I think I open too many work in progress..lol ).
Basically the model is a copy, really welldone honestly, of the upper part of the Fisher model pattern 917 lh Martini. Found it at a bargain price on Ebay so iŽll give it a try. Of course no wheels and no decals, just the bare upper body part PLUS a lot of vacuformed parts of the windshield and front lights. It seem as an aborted slotcar project somebody did somewhere in Uk, and then...scrapped and posted for sale in a desert summer auction online... The biggest challenge for me was to find the decals. Was so happy discovering le mans miniatures did exactly this sheet, and was soooo unhappy when I used the decals, payd as brand new and they were...completely old and crap in quality . Half livery is then painted... The rear wing is coming from the central part of the sprue of a tamiya mercedes gt3 amg , the wheels and tires are from fujimi 917k (with my custom made tire decals). The interior and lower part of the chassis is scratchbuild. I deeply wanted this iconic model in my collection. No willing and no voglia to make it as full open model from MFH, despite I have the kit. Here she is. The build up took over one year and nearly all the time was spent in cleaning the body and fixing the decals. Note I will place pictures from the beginning of this adventure, not only about the finished model. I hope it will be ok for all... and here finally under the warm sun of Calif....SCANDINAVIA !! with my historical filter on some pics..

Gotta love these old warriors! Turned out real well, and even though I'm not a big fan of these body-style Porsches, the livery is just fantastic. Awesome job.

Cool result. Your filter really produces this specific "feeling" about old times...
