electrical problems
my maxima is being serviced for a burned out alternator. They can't find my short because the fused wire burned out from the alternator to the battery. My question is can i wire this myself because these dumbasses are throwing me for a loop or has this happened to someone else and they could walk me through this problem. Because the car is running on my battery alone and won't last long this way please help me!!!!!!!

short
Just had my 93 maxima serviced for the same reason.. They fixed the fusable link and replaced the alternator, but i suspect there is still a short somewhere. My driver side rear window has been rigged somehow, the previous owner said he disconnected it or something.. im about to rip off the door and see what kind of a mess he left me. I dont even know where to look if thats not shorting out

Re: short
It sounds like something foriegn has been installed in your car that is causing it to short out. If not, your going to have to track some wires to find it. It will be no fun, but allot chaeper doing it yourself then to pay for it. Good Luck.
