Struts?

I thought I read somewhere that lots of wheel hop could be a result of worn out struts?

If this is a high chance of the problem: how much does a new set cost and is it hard to do alone with a jack and a toolset?

THANKS GUYS!

Sorry, I only realized this was the wrong section after I posted. I have a 1990 300zx if it helps.

nah...the 300zx is notorious for wheel hop. you need subframe spacers or subframe bushings. to install the bushings you have to drop the whole subframe but for the spacers it can be done.

worn struts may contribute to the problem but not your biggest culprit.

a full metric set of wrenches and sockets and maybe a breaker bar is the main things you will need for a strut change but you will also need a spring compressor. manual spring compressors can be purchased from a local parts store for pretty cheap.

good luck. suspension can be a pain to work on.

Re: Struts?

and dont get a cheap manual strut compressor because they suck and the cheap ones tend to bend and break ....
