How to replace engine mount on rear passenger side
Hi all. First post on this great forum.
My gf has a 2002 Intrigue 3.5 engine. I replaced all the motor mounts except for the rear passenger side one and the vibration she had is almost all the way gone. I am now replacing the last mount and I can't get to the inner upper bolt holding the mount to the engine. I tried several combinations of extension and still can't get to it. How did you get to that bolt? Also, will the outer upper bolt clear the half shaft without taking the half shaft off? it seems really tight in there. Thank for the help. |

Re: How to replace engine mount on rear passenger side
Does this mount bolt to a bracket that then bolts to the transmission? By the passenger side axle? If so, that bracket and mount need to come out as a unit. Then you can swap out the mount.

That thought crossed my mind…it does not look like there is a bracket it bolts to. This is not the transmission mount. The trans mount is on the driver side.

Re: How to replace engine mount on rear passenger side
I'm curious if you fixed your vibration.
I recently replace my half-shafts to solve a vibration. Mine would happen the worst when turning left and accelerating. For years before that it had given a mild vibration under load going 75mph. First I replace the left half-shaft with no result, then When I replaced the right one it went away. |
