Question 1993 Tooper leaking Power Steering Fluid

Greetins

I changed the power steering hose last yr without any problems. But, I still see a leak? I am wondering if the canister that holds the FLUID has a broken hose? Any suggestions?

It may be worth it to try the Lucas Oil treatment to stop power steering leaks. This is the only brand I would endorse because I know it works.

It is very possible the leak is coming from the power steering pressure switch. You must clean the area well with a degreaser or brake cleaner, and look for the source.

Let me know if you figure this out as I have the same problem with my 1994 Trooper. It was just a little at first and now I am replacing fluid to and from work. It all got worse in a matter of days. I see where it looks like it is leaking from the hose, but I don't want to replace the hose if it does not seem to be the problem.

Has anyone figured anything out about this? I have a '93 Trooper I bought and the power steering just started leaking like a sieve yesterday. Thanks for any help!

Pressure Switch

I have the same leaking with my 1994 trooper, but when I went to replace the hose, I could not get the Pressure Switch out of the old hose. I checked with the dealer and they want $150 for the switch. Any ideas on where to find an used or aftermarket one?

Very common problem.

two common leak points...the hose itself where it bends sharply close to the pump, and the fitting on the end of the hose where it bolts to the pump.

Mine has weeped from new. Mechanic said more trouble than worth to fix...unless going through lots of fluid.

luckily i have never had to top up in 230,000 miles...
