Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005

Well a lot happened to this project. After polishing the paint, I masked the body to paint the black windowtrims. This was nicely done, but after removing the masking tape the paint came with it. Repairing was not an option because I pulled away the primer also.

There was nothing to do, so I putted it in brake fluid for a couple weeks. But the 2K clear didn't came of  So I bought some 99% IPA and this works much better. Then again a couple days of brakefluid and I had a nice new body.

As far as I know there are a few more modellers who got this problem also with zero paints WHITE primer. The grey primer don't have this problem..... anyone who can admit that?

But.... after some small putty and sanding I primed the body again (grey primer though ) Unfortunatly I have not a spare decalsheet of the Nomuken Blitz car, so I had to make my own version.

I don't know how the car must look at the end, but I started to search for a nice color. I thought Mugello Blue Pearl from Audi would be a nice color for it

The chassis was already painted white before, and meanwhile I had started to paint some details on it. I'll leave it white cause it suits the blue color. At the end the whole chassis will be wheatered a bit.

I also painted the rollcage blue, but it will be polished aluminium. I first assembled the cage, and added another bar to attach the seatbelts later.

I also painted the seats. First I painted them with Scale Fabric spray from Tenco Proto. After that I painted some flat blue on it.

Now I'm going to find some decals for it.

Kris.

Looks really good, I like how the seats turned out with the texture. That sucks that you had issues w the body but at least you got it sorted out

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005

Bummer about the masking it was looking awesome!! I dont beleave it, your Drifter comes with a stripped out interior!!!! The S15 drift Silvias have a stock interior, which sucks!! Nice choice of colour & fantastic detailing so far

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005

Today I did a lot of work on the interior.

First I already painted the dash with Scale Fabric spray. After that I gave it another layer with metallic black.

Some decals and PE stuff were added also.

It looks quite massive, but believe me when I say it's only on the pics.

Most of the work I did today was for the seatbelts. I used Hobby Design seatbeltset but this time I used real seatbelt material instead of the copper shitty stuff which Hobby Design included in their set.

I also painted the rollcage polished aluminium with Alclad paint.

For a better adhesion for the decals I sprayed one layer of clear on the body. It's not shiny but it will be after some nice decals.... still looking for them though....

And a dryfit. I already added some liquid masking on the wheeltrims. Don't know what color I'll paint the centerspokes.

This week i'll continue on the chassis.

Kris.

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005

Last week I painted the spokes in X-7 Red from Tamiya. After that I painted the wheelnuts and added some decals on them.

After a trade with a fellowed modeller I got a lot of sponsordecals. They're are almost all added on the body I quite like the result with all the different colors

I hope to clearcoat it tomorrow!

Im not a big fan of coloured wheels, but that last pic you posted looks awesome. The red really blends with the blue great.

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005

And sprayed some 2K clear today. A few dusts in the last layer, but I'll polish them away when the paint is dry.

The dust on the pics are just on the surface, because the body was drying this afternoon in the sunny garden

Hope to polish is by next week.

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005

Not much done last days, but still got an update.

First I did the brakes. I used Fujimi Nissan GT-R brakes which are very nice. They are multipieces so they look very realistic. For the brake calipers I used some resin ones from ScaleProduction.

I painted the discs alclad chrome and did a blackwash on them. The calipers are bright orange painted.

The chassis is also nearly completed. Only need to add the exhaust on and put the rear wheels on it. I lowered the suspensin by removing the real spring which was included in the kit.

I also did a bit of wheatering.

The body was polished yesterday. After that I had to paint the windowtrims semigloss black. I used Tamiya x-18 paint for that job.

And also painted the windows.

So I have to put it together now.

Kris.

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005

Today I finished the chassis. The exhaust was painted alclad chrome and I did a bit of wheatering on it.

On the body I added the lights. The frontlight glasses are a pain in the ass to fit. But after some sanding they got the correct shape and they fitted much better.

I also added some decals on it. Startnumber 13 stands for the paintproblems I had....!

At last I added the rearwing and sidemirrors.

Next update will be a finished nice Skyline This will be showed in completed section soon.
