Cool Steering wheel Sound 2002 Cadillac STS

Hello,
I'm hearing a muffled thumping sound when I turn my steering wheel either direction. I have new CV axles. It sounds like its under the dashboard in the steering shaft location. Any ideas? Thanks ellis479

Not sure if the STS had the same issue, but a lot of other GM vehicles from the same era had issue with the intermediate steering shaft binding up. It would make a thump if it lost its lubrication.

Thumbs up Re: Steering wheel Sound 2002 Cadillac STS

Yup, the Seville suffered from this also.
