Where to get decals for Original Teile CLK-GTR?
Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket decals fro these as mine have yellowed. Looking for a full set, not just the 'torn effect' areas.

Re: Where to get decals for Original Teile CLK-GTR?
Howdy from Texas,
I was going through the same thing myself just a week ago. Here's what I did... I could not find the set of the decals, so I bought a whole new kit instead. This might sound strange to invest in a whole new kit but searching the internet I found good deals for the kit and the price was only marginally more than a new set of decals. Assuming the decals would have been 20$ US the kit I bought only cost 27$ US. For that extra 7$ US I got a whole new kit still shrink wrapped. Another option is to place the decals in a window and let the sun bleach them back to the original condition, but I've not had a complete success doing this. The clear decal film was restored, but the white parts still showed signs of yellowing. This worked very well for the other CLK-GTR kits, though. Check the decals daily and don't leave them in the window too long or the colors will fade. If you decide to buy a whole new kit be sure it is still shrink wrapped or, if open, verify the decals are in good shape. Hope this helps. |

FYI: MCW Automotive Finishes makes the Original Teile blue paint. It can be found here http://mcwautomotivefinishes.com/paint/racelist.html and is product number 2099.

I bought a full set of original Tamiya ones from eBay a few months ago. They seem to show up from time to time.
Right now there is a set of after market ones from AMS listed. |
