Re: Toyota Celica TwinCam (TA64) - Beemax 1:24
Could be the next year. That's the kind of time frame I'm expecting when it comes to Beemax.
MP4/2's T1 photos were posted on the company Facebook on Aug 29, 2014, and the kit was released at the end of June 2015. Celica's T1 was ready on July 6, 2015, so the release date could be May 2016. |

Re: Toyota Celica TwinCam (TA64) - Beemax 1:24
From the start it was obvious they wouldn't meet the announced release date.
Btw, for cars that we've been waiting for 25 years (M3 E30) or more (Celica and 240 RS), it doesn't look primordial for me to wait another year |

Re: Toyota Celica TwinCam (TA64) - Beemax 1:24
Got my Celica this morning and can say it was worth the wait. Really nice kit throughout, excellent detail levels, nice moulding, lovely decals and nice photo etch parts. Really looking forward to building it sometime soon..

Does it have the (inexplicable) underhood detail, sans engine, like the EF Civic looks like it will have? How is that, if so?

My only gripe would be that half the exhaust system is molded into the floor pan but this may be able to be modified.

Re: Toyota Celica TwinCam (TA64) - Beemax 1:24
Got my Celica kit and have to say the mouldings are very impressive. There is only the engine sump detail from underneath and gearbox moulded into the chassis. A bit strange as there is an opening bonnet. A nice transkit would be an engine!
I'm unsure if the red decals will be good or if painting and then add the fine black border would be best. Should look great with the photo etch details added. A fantastic new GpB rally car addition for the collection. |

True, agree with you, thanks to Beemax..!! Their relationship with Toyota seems good. Maybe a Toyota Celica ST205 might be on the cards for the future..?? Would love one to the same quality as this Celica...

You can use the engine from the Tamiya 84C as basis. They are from the same family.
