Engine cranks but won't start when hot

Hi!

Can anyone help me with this one. The engine of my Porsche 914 2.0 L 1972 (1973 Engine; Fuel Injection) will crank, but won't start if the engine is hot. When the engine is cool, it starts no problem. However, if I derive for, let's say half an hour, and I stop the engine, it won't start anymore until the engine is cold again. That is a couple of hours later. Does anyone have a clue of what could cause this?

One last detail: If the engine is hot, it will start on compression however.

Best regards,

Jean-François Beauchamp

Re: Engine cranks but won't start when hot

1. Check for fuel vapor lock.
2. Check coil and condenser for short.
3. Check fuel pump relay.

These are some of the most common problems when a 914 will not start when hot
