Spark Plugs
How does one go about changing out the spark plugs on a 2000 Camaro SS, LS1 engine?

Re: Spark Plugs
It's easy but a pain. You would need a 5/8 sparkplug wrench. Wait till the engine is cool off before you start. First you will have to wiggle the sleeve off(CAREFUL TO NOT BREAK THE WIRE). You only have really only have to turn the wrench twice to unsnug it then put the new plug on with the sleeve tightly on there, then repeat this same step 5 times.

Re: Spark Plugs
Yeah somthing like that. I suggest you only pull one plug wire off and change one plug at a time so theres no chance of getting them mixed up. Make sure you check and regap the plugs as needed before putting them in. Dont count on them being gapped correctly for your engine out of the box. The correct gap should be on the VECI decal under the hood.

Re: Spark Plugs
Ha, if you think changing the plugs is bad, wait until you have to change the wires, or the distibutor cap.......usually at 100k(if you are lucky enough not to have a misfire by then), comes the Firebird/Camaro tuneup.....big bucks.....you replace the plugs, wires, distributor cap, air and fuel filter, and the w/p.......you need to remove the w/p, to replace the distibutor cap/rotor......
