Transmission fluid in with gas
Is this a rumor or is it for real:
Adding transmission fluid to your gas help clean your engine. A mechanic friend said he does this once every five tanks. |

Re: Transmission fluid in with gas
I don't buy it. I've heard of using synthetic ATF for power steering fluid (coincedentally in my 97 Saturn) but not in the gas tank. Only thing i'd put in my tank besides gas is techron.

Re: Transmission fluid in with gas
It actually does work, trans fluid has so many cleaners in it it will clean the hell out of your engine for sure. I actually put half a quart into my CrankCase about 500Miles befor my oil change, it's sorta like SeaFoam but cheaper.

Re: Transmission fluid in with gas
Just did this with my 96 Buick PA and what i did was a put in 1/2 in at half tank and toped the tank off then i put the other half into the crank. Everything works perfect and this was done about a week or so ago and im down to about half a tank * dont do much driving *
Good Luck |

Re: Transmission fluid in with gas
Indeed it is true, transmission fluid does helps but I think, old cars don't need much.
