2011 kia Rio problems in snow .
Okay, so I have a 2011 kia Rio obviously. It's been snowing a little outside, not even an inch. But whenever I drive and try to stop I press the brake and there's this grinding like sound and it doesn't stop. I have to pump the brakes for it to do something and even that doesn't always work right. I most recently slid though a red light because of it and almost hit a huge truck. I'm seriously freaked and am scared to drive I'm not sure what's wrong.
Would any of you have any ideas? |

Brake pads sound wore out. And you may need rotors by now if you scored them. How's the thread on your tires?

The "grinding" sound may actually be the ABS engaging. It would also explain the inability to stop. ABS is terrible in snow and ice conditions.
I do agree you need to check out your pads and rotors though. Also what kind of tires are you running?
