96 wiring harness

Do any of you know what the two connectors that come off the EFI harness (other than the ECU) of a 96 convertible are for? My manual seems to only cover 90-95, and my new harness for a 90-93 TT only has the female plug for one of the extra connectors. The one I don't have a connector for is brown and it is part of a bundle of wires that go up along the door sill underneath the glovebox. Do you think i will need it? It only looks like about 12-15 wires in that connector.
