Re: Re: Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's

Well guys, today i visited Chinatown NYC where i found Pearl Paint which sells a good amount of Airbrush's. I decided to buy the Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS since i heard that its great for fine art and for modeling. Tomorrow i will be visiting HomeDepot searching for the Compressor that Vric has shown (6 posts before), the Delta.

Thanks for the help guys!

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's

only thing I see wrong on picture, is the plastic jar.. you will need to buy smaller one (or a metal color cup)

this one is very fat ! get 1/2oz jar and 1/4oz color cup if you can get them for cheap

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's

not only a confort problem, but I don't see when you will need such a big jar. you will wast a bit of paint every time.

anyway a color cup cost like 5$, not a big deal

Ohh, i think i see what you mean. Like when i pour in paint some might get on the walls and will not come out? or it wont let it come out since its real wide?

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's

Indeed get a color cup or a glass jar. I perfer glass jars my self over the color cup. Definatly dont use the plastic. They are hard to clean and melt in laquer thinner.

Vric im having a real hard time finding this Compressor. The brand is Delta? All that i get from Home Depot is the Delta water faucets for homes and other home stuff. Can you give me some detail on that please.

Thanks,

PS: I'll see if next week i go to the Pearl Paint here in Paramus NJ to buy a glass jar. One thing that i find wierd is that the bottle just slides in and doesn't even have a lock to it, will it fall onces filled with paint?

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's

I can't give you more details than a picture

it's a Delta 2Gallon 100Psi.. you can get any other brand anyway.

and no, the jar will not come off when filled of paint (well it shouldn't) there is no lock on any airbrush. just fit it tight.

I only work with the color cup, some prefer glass jar.. since I work litle by litle, I use the smaller thing I have.. and I don't waste any paint with that

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's

No they wont fall out. The plastic siphon of the glass jar must be "eased" into the airbrush. It will definatly not fall out unless not put in right or you yank on it during brushing.

Vric swears by his color cup but I cannot get mine in my airbrush! It wont fit. So I use the glass jars. Which work for me when I base paint everything because I need more paint than the color cup can hold. But I must agree with him on the glass jar wasting paint if you are doing detail painting.
