Please help me!!!
Hi, I slipped off the road and into a slight ditch... now my steering wheel is not in the right position, it is turned differently then it was.. also, one of my front tires is turned ever so slightly off center, could this be my tie rod? simply my alignment? Can you help me??? Please!!!

id say you probably bent the tie rod but you need to jack it up and take a look. either way your probably gonna need an alignment

Welcome to AF!
Take it to an aligment shop. Tell them what happened and they will check the front end for you usually no charge and tell you what is needed. If it is not too far off it can be corrected with an aligment ($60). If you are told that the strut or the strut tower is bent and needs to be replaced, get on the phone and find somebody that will do it for about $200. You shouldn't have to spend any more money than this unless the tie rod is bent, then it is about another $68. Shops vary widely by what they charge. Take it to at least 3 places if it is driveable and get your best estimate. I know it is stressful to deal with a problem you know nothing about, but if you deal with it you can save a lot of money. Hope it all works out for you. If all you need is an aligment and the tire rod end adjusted it won't be too much dinero. Good luck. ~Dave~ |
