Does the BOSE RDS Radio have a Theftlock Code that I should know for emergencies?
I have an 03 Envoy with the 6 CD BOSE RDS radio. First, let me say I have read all the threads about unlocking radios, ALL of them.
My radio is not locked. But I am going to take it out and change the faceplate for cosmetics, and then put the same radio back with the new faceplate. I realize the radio has the vehicle's VIN stored in it and I probably won't have any theftlock problem when I reinstall it. But, being cautious, I don't want to take the radio out and find out I was wrong, or did something wrong, or something. And now I DO have a locked indication and I don't have the code. So my question is: Does the Bose RDS radio have a theftlock code like has been discussed on various threads, including this one: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ight=theftlock I didn't have any luck getting the radio to display any codes or indications as described in that thread. But I realize that discussion is about a radio a few years older than mine, and probably not RDS. So is there a code and how do I get it while the radio is not locked, in case it does inadvertently become locked in the future? Again, there's no problem with the radio except for poor quality paint on the buttons. It's not locked or indicating locked. I just want to be prepared, in case. Can anyone help?
