trouble with keyless entry

Hello, I just got a used 2002 DE Coupe, and it came with two transmitters but they are only capable of starting the engine and making the lights flash when the lock/unlock buttons are pressed. It seems like they might have been put on by the previous owner (bought it at a dealership). The transmitter type is PROOE4BS and FCC ID is ELVATOE (google only brought this up, and from the image it matches except for the color of the two lock/unlock buttons): http://www.etaag.com/items/item142.htm

I want to figure out if this is a custom job, or if they are from the manufacturer, then I'd like to figure out if the transmitters just need to be programmed, or if the wiring is not correct, which means I guess I need to find out how they should have been wired in the first place. I would also like to find out if there is a manual online for these transmitters (there is a phone number on the back which I called, and found out that they might be from Audiovox.com but that page didn't come up for me).

I am not a car buff, so I'd appreciate any hints, tips, information.

Thank you

Thumbs up Re: trouble with keyless entry

I've got the same remote for a Toyota Rav that was installed by a remote starter dealer. This remote is made by audiovox. You can either visit www.audiovox.com or click on this link, which should go directly to the remote information, manual, etc.

http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/s...=395820&brand=

It's on their website listed as a PROOE4BS41 Pursuit Transmitter. You've got to really look for the remote elsewhere. I even tried to look for one on ebay but had no luck. Hope this information helps. You'll probably need to reprogram the remote. The manual is listed on either of the two locations.

You can download the manual here: http://www.audiovox.com/manuals/owners/1285868_PG.pdf

If none of these links work, let me know. I've got the manual downloaded./

Unhappy Re: trouble with keyless entry

These manual instructions do not work! You push the valet button three times and you get zilch. Nothing, Notta.
