'00 Monte SS 3.8L runs fine then wont start

Hi all, I hope someone can help me, Can't afford a mechanic since losing a job with a disability. I hope you don't mind this question.
Car fires right up, warms up fine and wife drives 25 miles to work. She shuts it off and it will restart fine. If you let it sit while hot for 5 minutes it won't start. It just cranks, but if you give it 20 minutes it will start right up and drives home fine.

Some friends have tried to help but had me replace a few sensors to no avail.
Replaced plugs and wires, MAF, idle air control, air intake sensors. Was going to replace throttle position sensor but it tested fine and it idles fine.
Replaced EGR and fuel filter also.

I have a new Innova 3160D scanner and it shows no codes. I have a abs/trac light on but I doubt that's doing this. That popped up awhile back showing both front and rear sensor codes.

One friend said it's rare on a EFI motor but maybe vapor lock. So we wrapped insulation on the fuel rails. No joy. Someone will put it on a big scanner for me at $120 bucks but hoping to save that cash and use the money towards the bad part but can't keep guessing and replacing.

I hear the fuel pump prime for a few secs at start also, so hopeful for some suggestions an amateur can check.

Thanks for your time.
Scott

It could be an issue with the fuel pump relay or resistor.

Quick google found an image for you

If I remember I think we replaced it. When it didn't work I swapped it with one of the same ones next to it. Just to make sure the one I got wasn't bad.
So you think its fuel related then.
thanks will check it out.

Try what it is saying to do in the image. It's not necessarily a fuel issues, more likely an electrical issue with one of the fuel components.

When it exhibits the condition check for spark and check for fuel. You could try spraying starting fluid in the intake and see if it sputters.
