Unhappy Pitman Arm Installation??? Help Please

I drive a 1997 C1500 Sierra. Today I had some work done and wanted to get an alignment. The Firestone service center advised me that I needed a Pitman Arm. They wanted $66.20 for the part and $121.50 for labor. I left and priced the part at Autozone for $20.50. Is this difficult to replace? Can I do it myself? I have done some work on cars, (brakes, oil, tune-ups, running boards, K&N FIPK). How involved is this type job? Thanks.

its pretty easy, one bolt but it is really big and you need a puller to remove the old arm and a big socket and a long breaker bar to install the new one. the new one will be really snug and will not go on as far as the old one , not a concern you will have to use about 200ft/lbs of torque to get it seated and it helps to heat it a tad ,but not too much
autozone should have a tool loaner program if you buy the part from them.have fun
