Can you identify this part?

See attached pic. Left behind in a hit in and run of my son's car, only have the picture at the moment, not the part. Looks like a gas cap or possibly a lug cover but any info as far as manufacturer, etc. is appreciated.

Looks kind of like the gas cover on the new mustangs. Hope this helps.
