I just never got around to really starting it. Would it qualify?
Not exactly, but Antonio didn't specify a category or Lowrider that is permitted. I would classify that 59 as a street rod or a custom, not a Lowrider. It all depends really, to me the model would at least need whitewall tires and either wire wheels or supremes, nothing else. Maximum wheel size for a modern lowrider would bave to be a scale 18" and anything underneath that size would be ok, no flamejobs, no chop tops, no big chrome wheels. This is my understanding of Lowriders, I'm not making this any part of the contest, just explaining to those who don't exactly know what a lowrider is.
Year limits would have to apply for what is a lowrider aswell, you can't exactly get a 32 ford and put wire wheels on it. A bomb would be anything from say 1938 - 1958, traditional would be 1959 - I dunno, say 1970? Modern would be anything after, I'm not sure on moderns, I don't like them alot, Traditionals and Bombas all the way

Re: AF Lowrider contest!

Would technically be a minitruck, but I guess as long as it is low it goes!
I think I will make a more strict lowrider contest a short while after this one, I'll see if I can do it in conjunction with Lay it Low too.

HEY PURPURA, IM GOING TO HAVE TO DISAGREE ON WHAT YOU SAID BOUT THE 59. any impala, thats 58-96 can deffenatly be a lowrider. if you guys arent sure of what a lowrider should look like, check out lowridermagazine.com. mostly every lowrider has the following:
wire wheels
hydros in the trunk
custom paint
murals on trunk, and hood, and basicly anywhere esle on the body
suicide doors,hood,trunk
chromed out engine
custom interior.

you said up top that you dont think a 59 could be a lowrider. i dont think the rules said it has to be traditional. there are several lowrider catigories:
traditional
custom
radical
bombs

im getting a camera friday so you guys can see how i get down.

Well I don't know what you classify as a lowrider but I don't classify a Minitruck or a car sittin on 20 inch chrome rims a lowrider. I said the 59 wouldn't be a lowrider, only because it would have huge chrome rims and to me, the only people who put huge chrome rims on 59 impalas are rodders, street rodders or hot rodders.
