Help
I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Gt.
About 2 weeks ago, all the water sprayed out of my windshield washer pump without me spraying it. Then minutes later my dash lights began flickering. Soon those lights went completely out. I took it to the shop where I was told the pump sprayed whenever my headlights were on, so he disconnected my pump and installed a new battery. On the way home the dash light to see the instruments worked fine but went out in about a half hour. Now the lights do not come on. The lights on the multidisc cd player are on but they are very bright and none of the other radio lights or temperture control lights are on. At times the lights will all begin to dim and then flicker and the panel lights will go on for minutes then shut off.* Recently my passenger tail light went out and the pasenger headlight will only work when on bright. All lights were replaced that were burnt out and the tail light still goes on when the brakes are pushed. Today, after I removed my key from the ignition, the radio still played and all the exterior lights stayed on. The battery eventually died and I got it jumped. I drove for 1 and a half hours without a problem besides no dash lights, no passenger tail light, no passenger front light, no windshield pump and the power stays on without the key in the ignition. Any ideas? |

Re: Help
Sounds like you have some strange electrical stuff going on.
The above sounds like a faulty ignition switch might cause power to stay on when the key is removed. You may want to find a shop that specializes in auto electrical problems. They can usually track down strange electrical problems faster than a general repair shop can thus saving you excessive diagnostic time. Not saying a general repair shop can't find the problem, just depends on the experience of the person doing the work. Also do a google search for your vehicle and try to see if others are having the same problems. Just my

Re: Help
Do a Google search for " Mitsubishi forums " , I'm sure there are many out there . A make specific site ( such as one of these ) will be able to offer more insight as well as experience in your particular model , good luck !
