thanks, Swoxy

we just got the "new" issue of Jaguar (winter 2002) and it has the new XJ series featured in it. But there are a few things I don't like:

1) I can't believe Jaguar waited this long to put technologies like HID lighting and the self-leveling air suspension that have been available in the Mercedes S-Class since the 2000 model year

2) What's with the two extra engines? 3.5-litre V8 and a 3-litre V6? There's already the N/A and supercharged versions of the 4.2-litre V8.

3) I don't think they should have raised the roofline; I love how low the height of our VDP is and how there is still an adequate amount of headroom. I can't stand tall cars. :o

Those are my only major complaints, but I'm happy that they were able to keep the essence of the XJ when they redesigned it. It is a very beautiful car. I can't wait until they hit the showroom floors

I once drove my friend's suprechared VDP. Those things are fast as anything and the interiors are amazing....they look like bentleys. I love these cars. Hope to own one some day.

Re: the VDP rules!

how much horsepower on a '88 VDP, does it have the supercharger option, if so, can i have the specs with and without it?

I'm thinking of buying one. I'm in ottawa but the car's somewhere in the 905 area code.

Re: the VDP rules!

No, the old one didn't come with a supercharger. Search the net for the specs.

New $80-90K.

An 03 $60-65K.

The XJR is a lot more fun, and also very classy.
