Singer 911 revisited
...it'll be a while before this one get's going, but I've now finally assembled my "kit of parts" for a Singer 911...
The "bite the bullet" item is the ScaleProductions RSR body, which has the right shape, right arch flares, more or less, and right retro wide Fuchs wheels. The cheap eBay Carrera 2 provides the 964 chassis. The other two were local charity shop finds for s few quid each, with the Speedster, being an Enthusiast model, providing the starting point for a detailed engine. All of them have interior details to offer, like the right instrument clusters and steering wheel styles. The Singer Recaro seats look nothing like ANY of the options I have here, so they will require some scratch building. The decals give me some choices on colour scheme -- I'm rather liking lurid green or pale grey with the red logo options... So... next question -- what OTHER cool hybrid Porsche can I build with all the OTHER bits I will have left over...? ;-) bestest, M. |

Re: Singer 911 revisited
This will be interesting The Singer looks so right. I'd been looking at building one using the Scale Production shell a while ago but the sticking point was the wheels.
I have read that the Singer uses a 17" reproduction Fuchs wheel where the original Porsche used a 16" Probably not a big enough difference to be too noticeable though. |
