Replacement Parts for Tamiya McLaren MP4-6 1:12
Hi,
I would like to ask if anyone can help me getting some replacement parts for the mentioned kit. I need Screw Bag A and parts BP1 (4x) and BC1 (1x). I did a search here in the forum to find some sites, but I just found out about Tamiya America, but they only seem to have RC replacements, and HLJ, but they shut down their replacement ordering since the earthquake hit them. Any help would be appreciated |

I don not know if they ship internationally, but Tamiya USA does sell replacement parts for plastic kits. Just call the phone number on their website.
In fact, my last order was for a new set of tires for the 1/12 MP4/6 (which are actually r/c car tires). Good luck! |

Re: Replacement Parts for Tamiya McLaren MP4-6 1:12
There is an eBay seller in HK "jr-rc", who is selling parts from Tamiya 1/12 kits, including MP4/6 - eBay
I've got parts from him before from other kits. Contact him and ask for parts you need. He might not have listed on eBay, but still available for sale. |

Hi, thanks for all the useful answers
I found the ebay seller jk-rc already and contacted him, so far, no reply. And I contacted goldstarstockists, but again, no reply. But thats ok, other people have weekend, as well Let's wait and see, what happens the next days. |

Hi, got a reply from them, unfortunately, not all parts were available.
If anyone has the mentioned 4x BP1 and 1x BC1 available, I would really like to hear from you, I want my kit complete |

Pester HLJ. Its taking them forever to reopen their parts department (if that was the plan in the first place!).

Have you tried calling Tamiya USA? They most likely have all the parts you need. (I know someone else mentioned it but I'm just here to remind...)

Yep I did, they told me I have to call Tamiya Germany directly (I am from Germany). Perhaps I should have mentioned that earlier
Well, will call them tomorrow, tonight is too late for that (it's nearly 9:30 pm here). |

Re: Replacement Parts for Tamiya McLaren MP4-6 1:12
Unfortunately Tamiya USA is smaller and leaner than they used to be. They do carry a lot of the smaller scale items, but the larger scale stuff, not so much. I tried to get some tires for the Porche 935 while it was in limited production, but was unsucessful. 1/24 decals for the Porsche GT1, they had them, and their prices are very reasonable as it was my fault some of the originals were ruined, not Tamiya's.

Re: Replacement Parts for Tamiya McLaren MP4-6 1:12
Hi, thanks a lot everyone for your help. I could get some replacements for the kit and now have about everything I need.
What I'm trying to do now is to try to get the last bits in new condition as the previous owner of the kit had started it and did kind of a mess about it. What I now need are the engine and the E-parts. I look everyday round ebay (jc-rc), but I cannot find them. So, what I need in total now are: 1 engine block 1 E parts 4x cowl holder (BP-1) 1x front spring (BC-1) If anyone knows where else I could find these, any help is appreciated. Goldstarstockists say, that they cannot order the above parts as Tamiya has them discontinued, so no luck there. |

Re: Replacement Parts for Tamiya McLaren MP4-6 1:12
Hi, it is unbelievable, but after 6 years since I got this kit, Tamiya Germany could provide me with the parts I mentioned in my earlier post.
Unfortunately, as I currently went through the kit, I found still some parts from the A-sprue, which I needed. Is there anyone who has this as a replacement? EDIT: Nevermind, found it So now I can prepare myself, finally, to get on with this kit Thanks anyone for your help, really appreciated it! Last edited by ferrari2k; 07-21-2012 at 03:11 AM. |
