Re: 1992 GMC Sonoma Stalls during acceleration
Wow thats a lot of parts did these all fail or is this fix by trial? When it dies does it start right back up?

Re: 1992 GMC Sonoma Stalls during acceleration
Its been fix by trial but the truck probably needed the new parts. The truck was neglected and probably was never maintained correctly. It struggles but it will start right back up but again only with accelerator push down slightly. I was told to try and replace the thermostat and temperature sensor.

Get a scanner on it and look at the temp sensor input first. See any of the injectors are leaking down also.

Re: 1992 GMC Sonoma Stalls during acceleration
So I replaced the coolant temperature sensor and the thermostat and it seems to be doing better but not perfect. It only has one injector and idk how to check it. The truck fires right up and idles fine until you rev it up and when it idles down it idles rough or dies

Re: 1992 GMC Sonoma Stalls during acceleration
I found the egr and it was already unhooked but I don't see any vacuum line hanging that should connect to it.

Re: 1992 GMC Sonoma Stalls during acceleration
Ok, but it could be stuck open or carboned up, take it off an and clean it up, if partially open it can cause hesitation and stalling.

Re: 1992 GMC Sonoma Stalls during acceleration
It looked like it had never been replaced so I went ahead and replaced the egr valve and the sensor the vacuum hose runs to and its getting better but still spits and sputters while idling and if you rev it up it spit and sputter then dies. Unsure what to do I believe I have replaced everything possible.

Re: 1992 GMC Sonoma Stalls during acceleration
How is the fuel pressure? Does it have a mass air flow sensor, if so disconnect see if runs any better.

Re: 1992 GMC Sonoma Stalls during acceleration
Its got a map sensor instead of mass air flow sensor but fuel system is all new besides fuel lines and fuel injector
