Reverse gear grinding in vr4
Buying a vr4 this weekend with dr650 turbos... The only problem with car is when you shift into reverse it grinds and won't go into gear, I'm thinking its the reverse synchro?

Re: Reverse gear grinding in vr4
Probably worn out shift cable end bushings. They're replaceable. Maybe even the clutch. Reverse is not synchronized on the 5 spd. Some have a reverse brake that slows down the input shaft for reverse engagement. Its mounted on the 5th gear hub sleeve and controls the travel of the 5th/reverse fork. But its not a synchronizer in the conventional sense that mounts adjacent to the gear.

Re: Reverse gear grinding in vr4
Do you know how expensive of a repair it would be? Just curious and my first thought was the clutch cause car has 500 whp but its a stage 3 clutch so it should be able to handle the horsepower .
