95 ram 1500 4x4 5.9L tranny issues
Hi everyone, I am a proud dodge owner, but am becoming quite frustrated with the 95 one. This has been a good running truck but has had some shifting issues for quite a while, since we got it actually. We bought it used from a friend a couple years ago. Anyway, So it had some small issues, was told the flex plate was cracked or something. Slowly over time, it has gotten where it dont want to shift from reverse into drive, it hesitates for about 60-90 seconds, and normally we have to put it back into park a couple times before it will actually go into drive. But anyway, about a month ago the U joint broke and the driveshaft was on the ground at the front end. We fixed that, and it has gotten alot worse since. Now it is making a weird creaking noise, ticking or something. It is really bad about slipping out of gear, and has developed a leak. I have called around about a tranny rebuild and have been told 2000.00 . Is there anything else that we could do? Could it be a simpler (or cheaper) issue??? HELP! Thank you!

check for tranmission fluid leaks at seals, pan, dipstick, etc
make sure you have new tranny filter and oil |
