Hobby Show - for G modelers...I guess

http://ihobbyexpo.com/public/c_about...m?menu_id=8000

guys, there will be the annual Chicago Hobby show early sept.

Not sure about you guys, but I'm into plastic models, diecasts, and RC cars along with my 1/1th scale cars. hehe

I am friends with the people over at HPI (RC car manufacture) and they even make a replica 1/10th RC car body based on my 98 Prelude. I'm asking them to make a Primera P11 body for their upcoming MicroRS4 model, a 1/18th scale 4wd RC Car...which my buddy at HPI designed.

well, if you guys are interested, check out the above link for show info. only $8 to get in at the door. this convention center is like minutes from the O'Hare International Airport.

how do they model after a car?
Like, is it by eye, or do they take measurements and transfer them?

I've got a Nitro RS4 racer with many extras collecting dust in the garage.

there is a Primera body already for the electric cars, i have one, not HPI though, they make kick ass bodies for the gas powered jobs.

they do take measurements and then have to bias the wheel base and width to match the rc chassis. it's very artistic. and then they make a hand made mold out of all the measurements, etc and walla!

cool, yah, got me a Pro2, Pro1, Mini, TC3, etc. etc. got about 10 RC cars that I work on in the winter time.

WOW, seems we RCer's are a lot!!!! That's where my nick comes from.

I have a HPI on my closet, but now I am driving a 1/5th FG, soon to be the first Primera 1/5. They don't do a Primera body, but I will "dress" an accord body with my 1/1 primera lights. Proyect is looking good.
