nice, somewhat quick, moddable, easy to find, (asian) rwd cars?

k well i really want a new car (an mr2 or a 240sx preferably) but i cant find to many around here in missouri, so what are some other cars that are rwd, have alot of upgradablity, pretty quick and are easy to find and somewhat cheap?

id prefer an asian car but ya...whatever, so ya what are some good cars?

im guessing under 6000, possibly $8000

240's require a good amount of mods to be a bad ass car. mr2's are good.

maybe an older supra, 3000gt, pr a on older miata. i miata would be good. theyre cheap. reliable, and the weight ratios are almost perfect (front-back) only problem is tht theyre kinda of a bi*ch car.

What about an RX-7, or old Mustang, it may be domestic, but its nice, quick, moddable, VERY easy to find, and rwd.

i dont like mustangs, just i dunno, i dont like em lol

id love an rx7 or a supra, but there not too common

the mr2 i found, for 1k !! its that cheap because the dude wrecked it, but rebuilt everything and its all fixed and not on the insurance record, and all he had to do last time i talked to my friend he said he needed to install a 25 dollar fender he already had

ive been trying to look at it, ive gone 3 times but the dude is either never there, or he sold it already

In that price range you would be looking at a pre-93 supra or RX7. The Supra has tons of potential. You can get a straight bodied car in the $2k range and drop $6k into the engine. I've heard of 500+ HP cars in that sort of price range. And the engine will remain bullet proof.

The RX7 will always have reliability issues. The supras are really easy to find, the rx7s are a bit harder but still pretty easy.

Re: nice, somewhat quick, moddable, easy to find, (asian) rwd cars?

ehh theres not many supras in any of the ads (well none actually) that are within like 200 miles

anyways i talked to my friend and he goes to car auctions in stl and KC and stuff and they buy cars there alot and sell em for more, most have problems (big and small) but his dad owns a shop and they know how to fix it all

ex: they bought a grand am like 03 or somethin, for 200 bucks, had a slight transmission prob, and they fixed it right up and sold for like 3k or somethin

and ya he was telling me how he knows of a 91-92 (older body style) prelude, with 4wd and all wheel steering, and its J SPEC!!!! turbo too, u know hwo sweet it would be to be the only dude at school with a left side wheel? i dont like the old preludes looks but shit for only 1800 and jspec and AWD i dont care!!

and he has a bunch of integras, and stuff, i asked him to look for a 240 or any other rwd asian import and he said he can fix it up for me (they usually have dents or fucked up motors but he can fix it)

there was an mr2 for like 200 but the engine was blown and he can get a mr2 engine for like 250! he bought one and its in his ford festiva right now, so ya

he said he goes to the auctioons on wed, friday and sunday and tuesday to sell, so hopefully hell find me something tomorow

there were no AWD Preludes

most of the cars at those auctions are utter crap.

dont buy from an auction, the cars are either complete pieces of shit that dealers took on trade, or theyve been wrecked.

rx7's are good, but the older ones have serious reliability issues. id still say a miata, theyre pretty quick stock, but there are things you can do.

in the US the WRX didn't come out until 2002 and the STI wasn't available until 2004...

do you actually know what your talking about? "some inline thing"??? its an inline 6, then youve got an inline 4, thats your typical everyday 4 cylinder motor. honestly man, i would hold your ground, and dont go with anything modded that is that cheap, you will either die or find out that you are driving a stolen car. the motor alone costs 2500 if it is from an r34.

i think these people might be pulling your chain, there is a market for that car, and that engine and if its a descent car they will sell it for way more. also if this is the guy that is buying these cheap and repairing them and selling them for more, they probably carry a salvage title and are way too high in miles.

BTW how old are you???

Re: nice, somewhat quick, moddable, easy to find, (asian) rwd cars?

just be careful. auctions, and high dollar import tuners dont go well together. especially at the prices you are telling us.

i was sixteen once too, so i know what its like to want an awesomely fast car, but dont have a lot of room as far as cash flow. i would recommend looking into something other than cars that have been bought and fixed up and sold higher.

just a word of caution
