Re: Whats a nice import car for 4-5k?

The 300 ZX is out of that price range. Unless you want the pre 1st gen 300ZX. Don't get the civic. I used to work at a gas station where I saw the mechanic buy his car for 4G(Civic Hatchback). He spent about 13-15G and only got 270hp out of the engine so about 230 at the wheels. Its not a good idea. You want to start with a better powerplant.

What about a Honda Prelude? I'm sure you could find a nice 92+ model with decent milage in your price range. There's also of course the 2 door Accords, which I like a lot, and can be had for 4 grand or less.

Oh yeah, the Prelude is a great choice.

Just dont expect a super fast car in stock form.

Re: Whats a nice import car for 4-5k?

Definetly go with the Prelude over the civic. You'll thank yourself later. Either way, neither are very strong power plants and to generate the most power you would most likely have to do an engine swap in either, however if you were just going to but some small bolt-on mods, I would definetly go with the Prelude

Re: Whats a nice import car for 4-5k?

hmm how much hp is a stock prelude and a civic?

ya there was a couple preludes i saw on autotrader, would a prelude get faster then a accord? everyones got accords

i really just wanna get some exterior stuff (new muffler, what would be better to get a flow master and get a nice tip or to get a like 3.5-4 inch muffler) body kit, possibly spoiler, and then i want a turbo and thats about it, how much are turbos?

and uhh, ya back in the day i wanted to get a crx and swap out the engine for an integra engine (people said it would be better, would it?)

also does anyone know of any other cool car racing videos like the honda civic? anywebsites ?

Re: Whats a nice import car for 4-5k?

you could get a 2g dsm (Eclipse gsx/Talon Tsi)

boost controller, fuel pump, and exhaust gets you in the 13's, but these cars are tempermental like the stealth would be.

So if you choose either of those, make sure your down with eventually learning how to fix the car, so when it breaks you can fix it yourself

Re: Whats a nice import car for 4-5k?

I'd go with the integra. It will be easier and cheaper to make faster then the prelude. If you aren't planning on modding it, I'd go with the prelude. In stock form I think the Intergra is still faster but stock for stock the Prelude is probably a better overall car...and this is coming from someone who hates Hondas.

im wanting to do both

which one is most likely cheaper to buy?
