off topic/ place to chat version 1.2
the last version was getting a little long and now we have so many more new members.
quick rundown: we aren't supposed to have a thread like this. there is a coffee break section for that BUT if we keep it bike related we may get to keep it. any quick bike questions or statements that are minor can find a home here.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that I haven't told you guys. I typed up a somewhat detailed report about it, but can't find it right now. Will post it when I do. Would you believe this was a terrific year for us Floridians? Particularly us who were burned... TWICE, hehe. Not only Hurricane Frances decided sit on top of parents' store, but Hurricane Jeanne dropped by as well. We're like the hot spots for decent weather.
4 Hurricanes in 2 months, it must be the Presidential election. lol.

I invite you to come to Canada and enjoy 5 months of winter. At least a hurricane is over in a couple of days, although it may ventilate your house a bit.
Last winter we had 8 weeks of sub-freezing temperatures. It did not even get above freezing in the daytime. If someone threw up on my lawn on Christmas, it was still there in March. And that kind of weather makes a mess of motorcycling. |

Please... feel free to come down here, inspect it for yourself, and reiterate those words to those who lost their homes and businesses. The weather is still shitty in some of the areas, and it rains every other mile. Yeah, it definitely isn't bad as throwing snowballs around. My apology in advance for being a little insensitive here.

.................................
on a lighter note... blayne i remember you saying a while back not to take off a riders helmet if he's gone down... i was actually told (by a reliable source [first-aid know-it-all]) that eventually its going to have to come off and if the case is his brains are going to fall out, theres no way of stopping that... unless his going to wear the helmet for the rest of his life.... she then proceeded to show me what happens when you take the 'trendy' path and wear open-faced helmets..... let me tell you newbies right now... WEAR A FULL F@$KING HELMET! ITS JUST NOT WORTH IT plus, open faced look shite anyway

Well if the person still has a pulse until he/she reaches hospital, there's still a chance that doctors at ER will know what to do to keep the white stuff in. I.E. drill a hole in the bucket and use plasters, hehe. There's been cases when the brain matter took a little excursion out of the skull or through the nose, and the person still surived to live a relatively normal life. Just hope you have a mountain of money to swim in sea of medications for the symptoms and atrophies.

Re: off topic/ place to chat version 1.2
praying wont do shit... just be responsible and more importantly, treat every other car/bike on the road as an absolutely unpredictable drunk driver and you'll be ready for MOST occaisions

in NSW we have to do two courses run by Stay Upright just to get our licence which i assume are similar course
as for helmets being removed. i'd like to leave it for someone who knows what to do properly, rather than get a lawsuit. i used to be a first aider but know i don't want to be because legally you have to help or cop a fine and possible jail term. worse if you fuck up

hey, uh if water was to mix with petroleum heterogeneously inside the gas tank, and if you were to start the bike up, give it some choke on the throttle to warm it up, and it dies after a while, is there any way to recover the engine/bike?

Quote:
1: in Victoria we have a program from honda that not only gets you your licence but offers advanced riding courses 2: blayne, unless the laws over there are different, thats utter bs .. the only time you can be fined or cop a jail term is when you attempt to assist the person, and your hazy on your first-aid skills and fuck up, or if you assist the person, and then walk off midway through.... a girl can collapse across the road and you can pretend you never saw a thing, and keep walkin... sad, but true..
