Yeah the porsche isnt a very cheap car to own, cause it costs tons to fix. If you want something fast cheap and original... get a datsun 510 and drop in a turbo rotary

There are some genius recommendations for you here.

RX-7s are the BOMB! If you have never driven one, you need to take one for a spin. Rotaries are absolutlely lovely. So smooth and spin up fast and high!

Some one mentioned a 510 with a rotary. Before that, I was thinking a 510 with a Buick Grand National engine (Sick sick sick twin turbo V6). Thinking of which I saw a Typhoon on Ebay for cheap, that is a AWD S-10 Blazer with Twin Turbo V6. That would kick any high school budget honda.

Stay away from old Audis and old Porsches. You don't have enough money to play with them! I love AWD and I loved the Gruppe B Audi rally machines. My first car was a 78 Audi 5000. German cars are EXPENSIVE to fix. My Audi, Jetta and Mercedes have taught me that lesson. My uncle had a 944 that he bought for 4 grand. Put 4 grand into it and sold it for 4 grand.

I love AWD, wanted a Quattro for years. Figured out that Subaru had AWD sorted out for less that it would cost to keep up Audi Quattro. That is why we have a 2002 Legacy GT Wagon!

Subaru XT Turbo Coupe or 6 cylinder Coupe with AWD BUT WITHOUT THE PNEUMATIC SUSPENSION might be a good choice.

Also, look into Merkur XR4Ti. I think that comes with a Garret T3 turbo. That seems to be a popular with grassroots racers and was popular in as the Sierra for rally and road racing.

You might also look into a SAAB turbo. If you are going to go with a front wheel drive turbo car, I think that SAAB makes some of the best.

Other fun cars are VW Corrado, and Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe (Super Charged V6)

You might wanna take a peek at the Euro market. Right now (if you can afford a newer car) the market is having a horsepower race. Especially in the German industry. Even the lower ranking cars are putting out more than Pamela Anderson on Friday night.

I've never heard of that car...

I was going to suggest a Datsun 240z w/ L28et swap (bolts in) or a SBC V8 swap...

Or a 510 with SR20/Rotary swap

Hell, a 240Z with an SR20 would kick ass too
