ever heard of a prelude SSR?
I own a '93 Prelude, and it is listed on the title as being an SSR. The person I bought it off of had looked into it and told me that he found that the SSR's were a short lived Canada-only Prelude (about 300 produced) with loaded options (6 disc changer, leather, keyless), and one option i found odd, it has a positraction front differential. I know for a fact it has a positrac trans, but i didn't know if the rest was true or not. Can anyone verify one way or the other for me?

Re: ever heard of a prelude SSR?
i don't know why i didn't think to do this before... I ran the vin and it showed up as an SR. So I guess someone just goofed at the title office. Oh well. Still doesn't explain the locking differential. As far as I knew that was never an option. It may just be a Canada thing, b/c of all the snow, or they all have them.

how do you know it has a locking differential? If it does it must be swapped in, not from the factory.

Re: ever heard of a prelude SSR?
I was looking more into the anomoly, and I think it could be possible someone put an lsd in the factory trans. I haven't seen any for sale for a lude, but they sell them for rsx's

Quaife sells them for the lude. It's a clutch type LSD. Not too uncommon.
