98 Bonneville ABS not working w/o ABS Light coming on.
My 98 Bonnevilles abs system no longer seems to work. It's been like this for quite awhile now, but I have been overhauling the car and would like to fix it. It stops as if it doesn't have abs and yet the light never comes on. I'm going to run some tests on the wiring, but I figured maybe someone has had this problem before.

Re: 98 Bonneville ABS not working w/o ABS Light coming on.
When you turn your key to "on", does the ABS light come on for three seconds and go out?
If yes, after you start the car, is the ABS light on? Do you know what an ABS stop feels like? Drive your car on an off ramp or on ramp....with no cars around safely stop with one side of your wheels on the hard top, and the other side on dirt/grass....apply brakes safely, and do you feel a pulsation in the brake pedal and a sound from the ABS pump? If you have Traction Control(there will be a symbol in your dash when you turn the key to "on"), at a dead stop have one front wheel on dry pavement and the other front wheel on water or dirt......with no one around, safely accelerate hard.....you should hear the ABS system apply as one wheel slips during acceleration.... |

No, the ABS light does not come on at all. Yes, the ABS fuse is good. The ABS stopped working on this car about a year and a half ago. No, it does not have Traction Control.
