What do YOU consider street racing?
I've been getting in a lot of arguments lately, as my friends have been buying Camaros, Mustangs and the like, and as a result have started what they call street racing.
IMO, street racing is back roads/ industrial parks/ otherwise traffic free road, while they say its no fun unless you're dodging cars. What's all of your opinions on this?

Re: What do YOU consider street racing?
street racing is racing that isnt at the track. If they are dodging cars the dont deserve to have cars, or licenses....or lives lol. That's just plain stupid and it gives those of us that do it on back roads and such a bad name.

Re: What do YOU consider street racing?
Speeding thru traffic isn't racing - it's just a contest to see who has the clearest lane. A slow car might beat a fast car if the fast car gets stuck behind someone who isn't racing. It's just a contest of luck not skill, and only an idiot would endanger other motorists that way...and only a bigger idiot would think he's not endangering anyone.

Re: What do YOU consider street racing?
I'll have to make sure I'm not a pedestrian or an innocent motorist in Langley anytime soon. If that's where all this is taking place... If it's in some other town besides Langley then tell me so I know never to go there. Stay off the streets period, in public places anything can happen anytime

Re: What do YOU consider street racing?
even in industrial non-residential, uncrowded areas, anything can happen, but that is one of the dangers of racing. I know of one accident that left a TransAm with NOTHING left, and the driver barely got out. He was one lucky SOB.
hopefully natural selection takes its course and ends that line of the gene pool, or makes it realize, that thinking is not worthwhile.

Re: What do YOU consider street racing?
Main roads or High ways.
what is real street racing is when there is no traffic find the best time to get a few heats in them leave the scene and meet up at a gas station a few miles down. and go different directions just incase cops where to hear the high Rpms,turbos,v-tec,bovs. engines etc. Back Roads. but yes it's better to do it on a nice paved road in the middle of no where by less traffic. make's much more fun you can see at least over 15 races of different cars lined up in the side of the road. going one v.s. one let them racing to the end then turn around wait for them to get parked and safe then, let the others line up. This what i consider Street Racing. any other more opinons throw them in. that's what we did down here in Southwest florida, ontil cops won't let us go anywhere anymore. stay at home on a Saturday night ;o( |
