Re: 1/8 talbot lago t26c

Everytime a new post appears I just think, "It can't get any better, but it does"

I have got to save up and get myself a lathe, possibilities are endless with one.

gpz900ra7, you can do it! What kind of lathe do you use?
And congratulations for your toy...

Re: 1/8 talbot lago t26c

Hi Dan, your build is just off the charts as far as commitment to excellence is concerned.

As for a lathe, I do not own one, but I do seriously desire one .

My toy, its my baby, a 1989 KAWASAKI GPZ900R A7 .

I await with anticipation your next update.

Re: 1/8 talbot lago t26c

Utterly amazing Dan...almost speechless, for once!

Got some questions for you though!

1. Who makes the brass hex bar you're using?
2. How did you get the grid texture on the pedals?
3. I spy some Revell '32 hot rod tyres! Are you going with these, or are you making new tyre patterns up?

Cheers for now!

Re: 1/8 talbot lago t26c

You are welcome Cinqster!

First, hex rods:
http://www.knupfershop.de/shop/index...73&cp_tpl=main

Second, no secret unfortunately... jeweler's saw!

Third, yes, i'm going to use these tires, only the rims ( more larger) will be changed.

Well, today, knock off.
Turning, jeweler's saw, one more a time and sweat...

Re: 1/8 talbot lago t26c

Cheers for the info Dan. I've have actually sat and wondered about the best way to make knock-offs in the past as I need some for an XKE project.

You've totally mastered the jewellers saw, I see - how many blades snapped making those puppies!? I bought some cr*p Indian blades and they'll happily break if I just breath on them...bad workman blames his tools etc!!!
