AutoXray Enhanced function upgrade?
i just received my AutoXray EzLink Pro-Pack, and there is an additonal option (for another $50 or so) that allows for enhanced operation(additional sensor readings) all it takes is a 4 digit alpha-numeric code to unlock the enhanced function.
I was wondering if anyone has done this or knows somewhere else to get the code, as i've already sunk $400 into this thing+the pc-link kit. thanks in advance |

Any Progress??
I Have the same problem and would like to update my scanner, but not for a small fortune.
Have you made any progress with your scanner? I have found that when you try to enter a code, the scanner gives two numbers and asks for a 4 digit code. The First Number the scanner gives you is the serial number of your scanner in HEX. Then it gives you a seed number. Finally it uses some encryption algorithm to match the number you enter. The number you enter is actually in HEX, but I have no idea what it is! Anybody have a good decompiler for files with extension .jcb ??? i.e. rtv217.jcb I have been unable to decrypt the code and I don't have $98,600 to spend on a copy of the software that created it. Oh Well, BCsMustang :sun: |

I also have version 2.17
When I bought the PC Link it came with the upgrade files in case you needed to upgrade your scanner to the latest version. Otherwise when you check for an update it should download the newest version. On my computer this file is in C:\Program Files\AutoXray\PCLink\Issue\rtv217.jcb I believe this is the OS for the unit, but like I said before, I can't identify the file type or decrypt it... I may end up paying the $50 for the upgrade :flamer: :spam: |

You should do the enhanced upgrade, I did both the ford and gm enhanced upgrades and have over 60 data items on obd2 cars verses the 20 or so I was seeing without the upgrade. It's also cheaper to do both at the same time $79.99 rather than $49.99 each. For some reason dodge enhanced isn't available yet. I can give you all my numbers that they had me put in my scanner but I"ll bet it'll be different for your's. BTW" I have the ezupdate PC program to download updates to my ezlink tool and would like the full PC version "EZ-link" that does the graphs and stuff, does anybody know were I can get a copy without buying? As I've done sunk more money into this too.

yeah, it will be different for mine, but im hoping that i can figure out how their generating the 4 digit number they give ya. so knowing the serial, seed, and 4 digit number would be a great help.
which software are you looking for? is it the pc-link that is a separate kit? |

I'm not sure what software grapony is looking for, but I have the ez-update software and the pc-link cable, and have been trying to find the ez-pc 500 software that allows you view data on your pc. Its the kit that cost's around $90. I've been watching ebay to see if I could find someone dumping it cheap, but wouldn't mind downloading the software since I already have the pc-link cable.

Free download on new software version
I had EZ-Link installed on my machine, ran updater. It's automatically downloading the newest version of the EZ-PC software. If around 3-5 people post their seed, serial, and code; we should be able to find some type of matching algorithm. Or at least get it to only 50 tries for the right codes.

This is a little off topic but has anyone who has upgraded their AutoXray recently started getting a manufacturer specific trouble code on all Ford products. Just wondering if we are the only ones.

Not Yet
My upgrade finished a short time ago today. Now the screen reads AutoXray 4000. Tried a scan. no errors.
grapony can you post the number's you had! I will really try to understand their encryption if I have the data. Then maybe I will be able to develop a KeyGen of some sort! Or atl east generate keys for whoever wants one. BTW: You can download the EZ-PC version 5 using the updater on the autoxray.com website. If you really want AutoXray PCLink software I can give you a copy, seeing as how you have a newer version anyway. |

I would post them if I could find them, I had them right here by the pc and I think my wife did away with them. I traded my ezlink unit back to autoxray for the newest ezscan 6000 that had all the enhanced functions already open even chrysler. For the guy who posted about the false codes, I use my scanner "6000 unit" in our shop and sometimes it will give false codes that aren't really there. I double checked the suspect cars with the snapon scanner and the codes wasn't really there. Also I noticed some bad incorrect data sometimes on a few cars also for example 195'F coolant temp and the air temp might be showing 8'F on a hot summer day. Again I backed up the bad data with the snapon. These units do have a few bugs on a few cars, BTW I'm using version 2.26. Does anybody know what this ezcharge 100, 200 is going to be for? It's listed in the user upgrades if you do the 2.26 software upgrade.

Thanks Anyway!
Thanks for trying, my EZ-Link scanner is also version 2.26, but it says 4000, that must be the model without all the upgrades. I also have the EZ-Charge 100/200 Option. No clue what it does?
