Yeah. 2.2's been asking for picture/video evidence of some sort but we haven't gotten any. Moppie seems to have found the real story from the source (Ralliart company ownership) so I for one believe the kid, but I'd never let him represent me in a case. Worse self defense exhibition ever

i've asked what gear ratios and final drive he has. he's avoided it and won't answer. that leads me to believe that his car can't do 100mph in second.

i don't doubt the existence of the car built for Targa Tasmania, and all that. i doubt that the car Ralliart owns is that one.

I think you guys are missing the point, This thread is titled Max speed in your car. 280kph/170+mph is the max speed I have been in my car. That was when I was running Race gas, down a longish strait, I now run on pump 95 which is crap. But I can still do a daily max speed of 250kph down there, that’s on pump, low boost 15psi and on road tires and your typical NZ road surface. Then it lead to I don’t believe that you can do those speeds, the car in the mag isn’t yours, the 6 speed getrag doesn’t exist, now you wan’t me to pay for a dyno, tape it with a digi cam I don’t own and provide evidence on the net to any law enforcement who wishes to arrest me for Illegal street racing……. My car has just had a clutch put in it. Soooooooooooooo I want it to last this time so I’ll ride it in………. Don’t believe me, I don’t care, I never said I knew everything about my car, and no, I don’t know the gear ratio’s. But this car is mine, yes its still very fast and yes it featured in the mag………..

What Moppie said about dealers selling cars that they have no idea is correct though. My brother in law's company sold an R34 GT-R badged as an M Spec NUR. Turns out it wasn't a NUR Spec, BUT, it did have a very very nice 600HP+ Trial-built engine in it.

It subsequently ended up in NZ Performance Car magazine.

Meh, if I go up to New Plymouth for new years I'll check the car out and clear up the issue

what year is ur civic?

mine's a '93, 4-cyl, so i was really surprised when i hit the speeds that i did. i think fresh out my engine only put out like 80 some hp. I was going straight and downhill for a good 7 to 8 miles (down mountains in the Poconos in Penn.)

my sis has a '95 civic cx (doesn't drive it now because someone hit it and bent the frame so it's a write off) anyways, it hits 100mph pretty easily. you'd be surprised what they can do

They're so frickin light, I have driven faster in my crx then my 240, true story. Why? My guess is because it's lighter.

hell, i've driven my sister's civic with about 80hp (maybe 87hp?) faster than alot of cars i've driven. mind you i haven't driven many cars, but still it's not as slow as many people think.

Civic's are a fairly light car, thats why some people prefer to mod the hell out of them. For about $20k in the us, plus the cost of the car, you can build one fast 1/4 mile car in a short amount of time due to the amount of parts that are available. Personally, the thought of going that fast in a 2200lb car is frightening.

It has a great power to weight ratio, but it's so frickin small. It was a good first car, got me my first kiss too.

mines a 93 as well. I dont doubt it can break 85 mph, but then it really starts to blow oil out the back and it shakes funny and generally doesnt like it. The rex ate up the high speeds though. God i miss that car.
